Determination of Heirship image
Determination of Heirship

If you have been appointed Attorney Ad Litem to represent the interests of the unknown heirs, particularly those involving intestate decedents, it is essential to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the decedent's family lineage. This includes identifying any surviving heirs, their relationship to the decedent, and the means to locate them.

Even when there is a will or known heirs, it is crucial to efficiently locate these individuals and provide them with proper notice of their legal entitlements to the estate. By collaborating with an experienced and skilled forensic genealogist, you can ensure that you've meticulously fulfilled your due diligence, thereby facilitating the rightful distribution of the estate's assets to its lawful beneficiaries.
